Thursina IIBS Tech Team Launches TSES Educator Mobile App to Monitor Human Resources
Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) continues to strengthen the discipline of its Human Resources that serves as a main pillar of its educational services. As part of this endeavor, on Monday, June 10th, Thursina IIBS launched another mobile app, Thursina Smart Education System (TSES) Educator, at the Human Resources Development event ahead of the 2023/2024 academic year.
Taking place at the Harvard Hall of the female campus of Thursina IIBS, this launch was kicked off by Ustadz M. Ali Wahyudi, M.Pd, Chairman of Thursina Islamic Foundation; Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Thursina IIBS; and Ustadz Imam Baihaqi, M.M., Chief of Smart Campus. The app was born out of the Human Resources Management (HCM) team's concern of the need for a platform to monitor the discipline of over 300 members of the Thursina IIBS human resources. This application reflects HCM's dedication to support and facilitate faculty members in fulfilling their responsibilities as educators.
Prior to this, HR discipline monitoring was conducted using a third-party app. However, its limited features, along with various bugs and issues, frequently interfere with its daily use. This year, the HCM team specifically requested the tech team to develop an internal application integrated with the TSES system.
“Starting tomorrow, several features will go live, including the daily discipline monitor, smart campus service improvement reports, and leave request services. Starting today, we will no longer need third-party apps,” explained Ustadzah Hilmia Wardani, M.Pd., director of HCM.
Ustadz Imam Baihaqi, M.M., Chief of Smart Campus, noted that the TSES Educator is the second application developed by the Thursina IIBS technology team, following the daily worship guide app, Silahul Mukmin. The development of both applications are carried out internally by the Thursina technology team, without the involvement of any third parties. This achievement represents an impressive milestone for the team who previously had no experience in developing mobile-based applications. To meet the launch deadline before the new academic year, the team participated in a series of training and self-development programs.
“Six months ago, when we launched Silahul Mukmin, we'd only just come up with the idea for TSES. In May, after Eid, we began the development process, and by June, we had already soft-launched it for a beta trial. Alhamdulillah, in early July, we successfully launched it according to our targeted deadline for the new school year," explained Ustadz Imam.
According to him, user experience is crucial for further developing the application. Various issues that arise will then be studied and analyzed to facilitate further improvement and feature development. "The system currently operates side-by-side on two platforms. The web-based TSES application is fully integrated with the mobile TSES Educator. Later, teachers can take student attendance and carry out assessments directly from the palm of their hand. Additionally, we will continue to develop various features to enhance convenience," he concluded.
