Thursina IIBS Welcomes Arrival of New Students for Academic Year 2023/2024

On July 22 and 23, 442 boys and girls embarked on a remarkable journey as students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS). Their arrival marked the start of their noble pursuit of knowledge as mujahid and mujahidah. On this heartfelt occasion, parents and guardians were present to send their children off on their journey.

Upon arrival, these new students were greeted personally by Ustadz Ali Wahyudi, M. Pd, Chairman of Thursina IIBS, and Ustadz Nur Abidin, M. Ed, CEO of Thursina IIBS, as well as the entire management staff. They were given a brief introduction to all the programs and activities that they would eventually be a part of as students.

In his address, Ustadz Ali Wahyudi noted that children’s education began upon their arrival at the boarding school with their willing and sincere parents. Everything that these students will eventually go through, inside or outside their classrooms, is at its core part of their education.

“This boarding school is a miniature model of real life. Here, students learn to socialize, make friends, solve problems, and many more things,” he explained.

At Thursina IIBS, students will meet peers from various places and backgrounds, all gathering in the same place, sleeping in the same dorm. According to Ustadz Ali, the moment students step into their room, they begin the tarbiyah process.

On this occasion, Ustadz Abidin warmly welcomed all the parents and guardians present through his address where he gave a detailed presentation of Thursina’s development as an institution from its moment of inception to the present day of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Meanwhile, Ustadz Sabar Arifin, S.T., chief of Marketing and Enrollment at Thursina IIBS, emphasized how the arrival of these new students served as an opportunity for them, as well as their parents, to start getting to know each other, so they can help each other throughout the school year.

We have prepared all our facilities accordingly to make sure we are giving these mujahid-mujahidah our best effort,” said Ustadz Sabar. “With these provided facilities, students can hopefully find comfort and study peacefully.”

The enthusiasm of the new students for the 2023-2024 school year is evident in the diverse places they hail from. Some have come from distant regions of Indonesia, including Papua, Kalimantan, Sumatra, and Sulawesi.

“Not only that, there are also students who come from Libya, Qatar, Germany, and Thailand to study at Thursina,” revealed Ustadz Sabar.

Ustadz Sabar noted this proves their dedication to learning and gaining knowledge. “It’s not easy to be away from home, not every 7th graders can do that,” he said.

Last Thursday, July 20, Thursina also hosted an online socialization for all parents and guardians of students regarding the rules, conditions, and facilities of the boarding house.

“Everything about Thursina IIBS has been socialized during the briefing. Even the smallest details like the procedure for students’ leave requests, students’ finances, and other things. We also let them know about the programs in each unit, such as output profile and tutoring program,” he concluded.
