Thursina IIBS Invites Students to Enlive the Prophet's Journey Through the Sirah Fest 1446 H
To celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held Sirah Fest 1446 H. With the theme "Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Parameter of Muslim Identity", the event was conducted in three days, 16, 24 and 25 of September 2024. It is a valuable momentum for students to deepen their love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Ustadz Ibadur Rohman, Dipl.A, M.Pd., the Manager of Mosque Management of Thursina IIBS, stated the main goal of Sirah Fest is fostering a sense of love and longing among students for Rasulullah SAW. "When they have a deep love for the Prophet, they will be encouraged to fight and preach in the way of Allah SWT, as did the Prophet Muhammad SAW in spreading Islam," he said.
Interesting activities are prepared to enliven the Sirah Fest. Including movie "The Journey of Prophet Muhammad", telling the story of the Prophet's life journey, as well as VR Journey, a virtual reality experience taking them to see directly the life of the Prophet Muhammad.
Surprisingly, there is the Halal Food Festival and Islamic Book Fair, offering halal culinary delights and selected Islamic books. The students took part eagerly in some competitions such as Nasyid, Quiz, Sirah Poster, and Story Telling Competition. The challenge encouraged them to explore their creativity and knowledge about the Prophet Muhammad SAW life journey.
The highlight of the Sirah Fest was the Grand Study presenting the famous cleric, Buya Yahya, lecturing on the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. He provided deep spiritual atmosphere for the audience, delivering the main message about the example of Rasulullah SAW in everyday life.
Both teachers and students have actively taken part in the arrangement of Sirah Fest. Ustadz Ibadur Rohman said the two parties, teachers and students (through IRMAS, Mosque Youth Association) were collaborated as the committee team. "By involving students, we hope they would learn to manage events and strengthen solidarity each other," he explained.
The event was held for all students, teachers and invited guests, however some sessions were held online to allow wider gathering. The struggling in organizing the event, he added, is a matter of funding and coordination among units. Nevertheless, the partnership with external parties such as VR Journey organizer has made the event even more memorable.
Thursina IIBS hopes that through Sirah Fest, students would know closer, love the Prophet Muhammad SAW better, and be inspired to continue the struggle of the Prophet and his friends. "We would nurture the students to be a generation who is willing to sacrifice and continue the words of Allah SWT on earth," concluded Ustadz Ibadur Rohman. (rnw)
