Celebrating Isra’ Mi’raj, Thursina IIBS Urged Students to Internalize Lessons from the Prophet’s Remarkable Journey

On the commemoration of Isra’ and Mi’raj, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) encouraged students to internalize and actualize the values and lessons from the incredible journey of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Isra’ and Mi’raj, a historic event marking the Prophet's journey to Al-Aqsa and his ascension to the heavens, is considered a foundational aspect of the Muslim faith in Allah and His Messenger, Rasullullah SAW.

To commemorate the occasion, Thursina IIBS invited Dr. KH. Sudirman Nahrawi, M.Ag., Caretaker of Ahlus Sunnah wa Dakwah Ulul Albab Islamic Boarding School, to speak at a lecture themed “Let Sabr (Patience) and Shalat be Your Savior.”

Dr. KH. Sudirman emphasized the importance of recognizing that shalat serves as a direct means of communication with Allah, our Creator. Therefore, those who approach the prayer merely as a routine, neglecting the importance of its quality and meaning in this act of worship, have done themselves a disservice.

"In understanding the existence of Allah and Rasulullah, we must realize that their presence may not always be outwardly visible. An analogy can be drawn to a glass we possess, though we may not always see who created it,” explained Dr. KH. Sudirman, illustrating the complexity of faith that we may not always fully comprehend materially.

Meanwhile, the female campus of Thursina IIBS had brought in the renowned ‘penghulu viral’, Dr. KH. Anas Fauzie S.Ag., M.Pd., to give a lecture titled ‘Fix Your Shalat for Allah to Fix Your Life’. Dr. KH. Anas began his lecture by illustrating the Prophet’s spiritual journey from Masjidil Haram in Makkah, to Masjid Al-Aqsa in Palestine, followed by his ascension to Sidratul Muntaha.

He subsequently stressed the importance of maintaining and improving the quality of our shalat as the key to a better and meaningful life.

“Isra’ Mi’raj is more than just a historical event, it is also a revelation of the will of our Almighty Creator,” said Dr. KH. Anas, clarifying the complexity of the journey’s meaning.

The commemoration of Isra' and Mi'raj serves not only as a moment to  reflect on the Prophet's spiritual journey but also as an opportunity to deepen our faith and obedience to Allah. It is hoped that this event can strengthen the devotion of Muslims and deepen the understanding of religious values.
