Connecting Students to University, Thursina IIBS Signs Cooperation Agreement with UINSA Surabaya

Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) strengthens its commitment to advance the quality of education through a collaboration agreement with the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UINSA) Surabaya. The signing of this agreement was on Thursday, November 20 2024, in the FEBI UINSA building, Surabaya, East Java.

The leaders from both institutions attended the event. Thursina IIBS was represented by Ustadz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd.I, as Chief of Education, and FEBI UINSA was represented by faculty leaders. Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., as Principal of Female Campus of Thursina IIBS, explained this collaboration was commenced to support the implementation of Independent Learning Curriculum Program in the high school and college.

"It aims to enhance graduate competencies and create collaborative programs to boost the quality of education and human resource development," said Ustadz Rois.

The agreement covers some scopes, including academic programs, cultural and interest development, joint learning, research, community service, and further study programs for Thursina IIBS students. It allows students to access various programs in FEBI UINSA to encourage their scientific development.

"We believe that the synergy will benefit greatly for Thursina IIBS and FEBI UINSA. Our students will gain broader insight in the world of Islamic economics and business, while FEBI students are able to involve in boarding school education-based programs," he added.

The program would include FEBI UINSA students in  training programs in Thursina IIBS, such as seminars and workshops, focusing on developing economy based on Islamic values. On the other hand, Thursina IIBS students will have information regarding study programs at UINSA to open up opportunities to higher education level.

As part of this collaboration, regular monitoring and evaluation will be carried out to ensure the success of the programs implemented. "We hope the program will not only be a short-term agenda, but also will have a sustainable impact on both parties. "Hopefully, this collaboration will continue to develop and inspire other institutions," concluded Ustadz Rois.

It is hoped the partnership between Thursina IIBS and FEBI UINSA Surabaya will unlock new chances in developing more innovative, relevant and future-oriented education. (rnw/lil)
