Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) redemonstrates its commitment in international level by joining in the Asia Youth Model United Nations (AYMUN) 2024. As many as 12 students went to Bangkok, Thailand, on 1 to 4 of October 2024. Proudly, couple students gained awards, M. Atharayyan Nugraha and Ahmad Reza Anugrah. Ustadz Muhammad Umar Pradhani, S.S, S.Pd., as English Teacher of Thursina IIBS, emphasized "AYMUN is the precise event to hone communication and critical thinking skills. They will learn how to be state delegates, carry out diplomacy, and formulate solutions to global problems".
Twelve students representing Thursina IIBS were Acmad Mecca Cahya S, Afra Mumtaz Athaala, M. Naafil Arkaan Ramadhan, M. Fadhlan Fadhillah, Laist Ramadhan Achmad, M. In the following day, they did simulation of the UN session, where each delegation delivered speeches, discussed and negotiated to reach an agreement regarding the global issues raised. It provided valuable experience in diplomacy and international problem solving. "Our students have learned to express their opinions confidently, and comprehended the importance of respecting other perspectives. This is a necessary training to become wise negotiators and leaders," said Ustadz Umar.
Subsequently, they had the opportunity to enjoy a city tour in Bangkok, visiting iconic places to broaden their cultural horizons in the last day. AYMUN ends with closing ceremony on 4 of October 2024, appreciating best performance participants.
