Tazkia IIBS Taught Students to Write Opinion with the Professional

Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held webinar under the theme "Writing Opinion : Delivering Our Thoughts” (09/18), attended by students with professional major of senior school of Tazkia IIBS. M. Azami Ramadhan, the speaker, is one of the journalists of Jawa Pos newspaper. The participants are equipped with basic knowledge of writing news and opinion, as well as its practices. 

Azami told that sometimes writing depends on the mood of the author. In a bad mood, inspiration is barely found, and vice versa. In fact, it can be eliminated as long as someone has a strong desire to write, whether on social media or other media, a writing will be created.

   

He, furthermore, explained that the writer should find the main point from an interesting fact. It can be seen from many aspects, including the surrounding condition,  things close to the reader, and so on. Sometimes, indeed, triviality possibly becomes appealing for the readers.

"Simply, we need to discover originality from a phenomenon", he said. The type of news of human interest might be one of the topics for students in writing opinion because one could manage to write about sympathy, emphaty, and optimism that can move the hearts of the readers. Students, therefore, need to practise writing engaging content in fine writing. "To start it, we should often read news in general or fiction to enrich vocabularies and to add reference of writing," he said.

   

The presenter also provided some tips in interview, mainly when interviewing great event. One of them is by listening prior information carefully, thus it can be a basis to develop interesting questions. In addition, it would help to find unfold side from the happening. 

"We should be bold in writing, do not hesitate ! When hesitating, our writing will never finish," he advised.
