Taking Short Course at NUS, Thursina IIBS Students Network with Global Entrepreneurs

Couple students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), Nayla Herman and Olivia Mecca succeeded in national competition and prized with prestigious program, an enterpreneur short course scholarship from LPDP. It was held in National University of Singapore (NUS) on 22 February - 4 March 2024.


Before leaving for NUS, they went to Jakarta for pre-departure event organized by LPDP and met many inspirational figures in entrepreneurship. Nayla Herman said, this experience is  rare and valuable. "In the event, we have connected with experts, Masters and Doctoral students who concern on entrepreneurship. "For us, the meeting is golden opportunity, so we network and share a lot with them" said Nayla.

   

Upon the arrival in Singapore, they actively learnt in the courses, offering various materials from the experts. The program is a bridge, connecting people to global entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as the opportunity to expanding and introducing to internasional network.


"On this occasion, Oliv and I also presented our project, Geisgo Apps, which is on going. "We had a lot of positive feedbacks for the application development," they explained.

 

   

Some topics presented in the course include, business model innovation, sustainability, panel discussion and business presentation. They admitted, the program of study actually helped them in developing understanding about entrepreneurship. Many of the business plan models taught had appearead in course materials also, they just need to adapt.


The achievement of the two would encourage other students of Thursina IIBS and communities to seize every opportunity appears in the fields of education and entrepreneurship. “Oliv and I are grateful to study at Thursina High School, especially entrepreneurship major. "It provides positive impact and valuable experience for us," she concluded. (lil)
