Practice of Cultivating the Blessings of Knowledge, the Final Class of SMA Thursina IIBS Runs Khidmah Program
Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) has announced the Khidmah program. A noble initiative designed to enrich the spiritual and social experiences of the students through various Khidmah activities.
Ustadz Syaikhul Islam, S.Pd., said the program is one of the spirit and character education in Islamic boarding schools, including in Thursina IIBS. The objectives are to develop morals, respect teachers, practice knowledge, and receive more blessings. "Almost all Islamic boarding schools, both salaf and modern, have khidmah program so does Thursina IIBS," he said.
He further explained that the 12th grade students help teachers and staffs in the school. The placement is based on their abilities and achievements. Khidmah runs with Tausiyah Kubra program, held on 12 of May to 7 of June, 2025. "While Khidmah has been conducted since May 5 to June 10, 2025," added Ustadz Syaikhul.
Preceeding the service program, there was a briefing regarding the importance of the program, benefits for students, reciprocity and the position of service in the perspective of Islam. Monitoring and controlling are carried out during the program, including encouragement in Tausiyah Kubra while it is running.
Passing the Khidmah program is a requirement for taking a student's diploma since performance appraisal is the determinant. In each unit, there is a form about the job description and the attendance must be 100 percent. "At the end of the term, they need to write a reflection, impressions and messages during the Khidmah program," he added.
Persistance in serving is a challenge. However, Ustadz Syaikhul is optimistic that the team would encourage and supervise students relentlessly. Additionally, patience, perseverance, and faith are acquired to get blessed. It is part of the Islamic boarding school programs and requires coordination with all units.
Ustadz Syaikhul hopes students will truly have the morals and character to respect teachers and other people, care about the environment around them, thus they will receive the blessing of knowledge. Not only in the Thursina IIBS, but in the wider community as well. "Blessed knowledge is able to be practiced, carried out and advantageous for people," he concluded. (sls/lil)
