Overseas Japan: Getting to Know its Culture and Learn Self Character Concept Form the Land of The Rising Sun
To build character, Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held overseas trip to Japan for senior high school students. It was aimed for students observing more deeply education value and character building in Sakura Country.
37 students of Tazkia IIBS visited some tourism spots, including, Kamakura, the most renowned city for its Great Buddha statue, the most interesting icon for tourists, built in 1252. Following by Komachi, snack and street food shopping center for typical Japanese cuisine. There is no waste at all as long as 1.5 kilometers, eventhough the rubbish baskets are not available in the area. Afterward, the tour headed to Hasedera Temple and Enoshima Island located in the top of the hill.
In the next day, they traveled to Disneyland, the greatest and the most visited play land in Japan. It is near from Tokyo, has a wonderful play ground, attraction and entertainment, attracted domestic and foreign tourists visiting this place often. Almost a day full, students enjoyed the pastime there.
Fujiten Snow Resort became the next destination, the nearest ski resort from Tokyo, located in the foothill of Fuji. Tazkia students had a good time there with the cloudy weather and white snow, also, skiing in the gentle slopes.
"The tour is part of valuable learning and experience. When snowing, the tourists can enjoy skiing and the beautiful landscape, hovewer, storm might be dangerous for vehicles to run," Estetia, the tourist, said.
They visited Iyashi No Sato village, or called Neba Hama, in the same day, situated in the west coast of Saiko Lake, the most famous traditional village in Japan.
The students could saw Japanese traditional house and building with thatch and woven bamboo as roof and wall. Iyashi No Sato also called fresh or healing village. Beautiful weather with the combination of trees and water lake, as well as fresh air in the area of Fuji mountain made them comfortable to take some rest. In the evening, they went to Gotemba Premium Outlet to shop some merchandise.
After spending a few days with the culture and cleanliness of Japan, they visited Japanese university in Tokyo. Tokyo Internasional University (TIU) founded as small business academy in 1965. It has enlarged its international education based on practice with 6500 students, 1200 of them coming from more than 60 different nationalities abroad. The university also offers E-track, providing e-learning for international students to obtain a degree in medium-english curriculum. The participants of the tour walked aroud the campus and got an offer to join the university to foster their ability globally.
Many lessons and valuable experience during a week-trip are supposed to be advantageous for students to go through their ways. May they be excellent in science and religion thus can bring Indonesia to more advanced in the future.
