Making Traditional Herbs to Have Higher Values, Students of Tazkia IIBS Contest in FIKSI Jawa Timur 2019

Young generation becomes hope of sustainability and standard of living, together with rapid improvement of digital technology. Different from its predecessor, millenials have typical characteristic emerging business idea. Those are the reason why students of  Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) joined in Innovation Festival and Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (FIKSI 2019, (7/10-12).

Ustadz Muhammad Miftah, S. Bns as companion teacher stated, two groups from Tazkia IIBS had passed to provincial level, East Java. FIKSI is a regular program, handicraft education and enterpreneurship (PKWU) for senior high school level. There were five fields to be competed, Craft, Fashion, Graphic Design, Application & Game, Culinary Art, Cultivation & Cross Bussiness.

  


"Two teams from Tazkia IIBS participated in culinary art and fashion. All proposals sent by students passed to East Java, provincial level," Ustadz Miftah told.

The requirement joining this contest was passing assessment of the juries. From all bussiness proposals, two of them, projects of entrepreneur and professional, were granted.

The participants were from students of year XII, Alinsia Shafira Jannah, Laocean Putri Emaida, Camalia Nauraa Amani, and Nike Irma, initiated proposals of Lafea Salon and Markemunik (Jamu Kemasan dan Rasa Unik). The second was observation result of students in Karangrejo Village, Kromengan, Malang District. Youth is targeted as customers. Repackaging and additional variety in herbal drink added a value in their works.

"The goal is preserving herbal drink and turning it into favourable drinks among young people, considering that the youngers dislike this typical drink. Digital marketing is also needed to reach more customers," Camalia Naura Amani and Nike Irma, the initiators of herbal drink said.


The event held in Batusuki Hotel, Batu, participated by 132 teams from many senior high schools in East Java. Students of Tazkia IIBS displayed their products and presented in front of the judges.

Another product created was LaFea, a bussiness of beauty service, hair care, beauty care, barber, spa/body care, waxing, nailcare, make-up, hijab style, extention, kids care, clothes rental, and store. The provider of beauty services will work with bussiness partner and Lafea will earn profit each time customer uses the service through application.

"LaFea is online beauty application. Today life style promotes online marketing as an effective way to sell products. LaFea's vision is to help people in beauty services especially for Muslimah," Laocean Putri Emaida and Alinsia Shafira Jannah, initiating this idea, explained.

Ustadz Miftah hopes other students could come up with brilliant ideas. Previously, students of senior high school presented creative and innovative ideas in international level in Malaysia. "May other excellent ideas could be generated to innovate," Ustadz Miftah supposed.
