Madinah, Mecca, and Turkey : Overseas Program to Study History of Islam and Stay Overnight in Masjidil Haram

Hagia Sophia is one of prominent world legacies exist. Initially, the building was Orthodox Catedral Church of Ekumenis Patriarch. In 1204-1261, it was Romanian Catholic Chatedral under Constantinople Empire after being defeated by the fourth crusaders.

In Ustmani Empire, the building was transformed into mosque from 1453 to 1931. Hagia Sophia was viewed as Bizantium symbol, the greatest cathedral in the world during almost a thousand year until Sevilla Cathedral was built replacing the greatest Hagia Sophia.

  

During a week, (01/15-22), the students visited some places in Turkey following by umrah. The trip was purposely managed by Tazkia IIBS for students of year VII and XI as overseas agenda. The Headmaster of Junior High School of Tazkia IIBS, Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M. Pd stated, the need of international experience is crucial for their briefing.

The tour continued to Uludag snow mountains, which the east city center of Bursa and beautiful view of Uludag plateau could be seen from there. Cable cars are available in the mountains, called teleferik, public transportation of cable car moved by electricity to transpot the visitors climbing up to the top.

Afterwards, the visit was headed to some great mosques in Bursa, Turkey, one of them is Grand Mosque or Ulu Cami, a symbol of the first Utsmani Empire with seljuk architecture as the basic component, the greatest mosque in Bursa, Turkey. Commanded to build by Sultan Bayezid I, the mosque was designed by architech Ali Neccar in 1369-1399. In the same day, students also visited Green Mosque, near from the first one.
Green Mosque is a heritage of ancient history with wonderful architecture. The name of Yesil Camii or Green Mosque related with the colour of mosque interior, dominated by green and turquoise, built on a hill in Bursa, known by Yesil or Green area. The last destination was Tomb, built by Sultan Mehmed, where he and his children were burried, located across Green mosque.

              
Moving to Istanbul, the group of Tazkia IIBS went to sites of Islam Triumph, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Marmara University.

Some places such as Bosphorus Cruise, Panorama 1453 Historical Museum, Ayub Al Anshari Mosque and Tomb, and Golden Horn Bay & Old City Walls were visited to know more about them. After spending three days in Turki, the tourists moved to Madinah for the next agenda.

Arriving Madinah, the students prayed Subuh together in Nabawi mosque, continued by pilgrimage to the Tomb of Rosulullah SAW, Abu Bakar RA and Umar bin Khatab RA. Subsequently, they prayed in Raudhah, the most noble place in Nabawi mosque, supposed the prayer has more virtues.

From Nabawi mosque, they continued to Baqi Tomb, next to Nabawi, where many friends of Rasul were burried. In his life, the Prophet came to Baqi Tomb often to pray for the dead. As it was Friday, students experienced how jum'ah prayer done in Nabawi mosque.

Furthermore, the group visited Quba mosque, Uhud Mountain, Qiblatain mosque, dates garden, and Islamic University of Madinah.

The travelling  followed by umrah with Thawaf, Sa'i, and Tahalul. Students were invited to stay in Masjidil Haram the day after and walked around Tzur Mountain, Arafah (Rahmah Mountain), Muzdalifah, Mina, Nur Mountain and Ma'la.
