Thursina IIBS Expands University Partnerships through MoU Signing with Hang Tuah University Surabaya
To facilitate their students’ preparation for higher education, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) continues to spread its partnership networks with universities. This effort is reflected in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hang Tuah University in Surabaya, Thursday, January 11.
Principal of Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., revealed the two focuses of this partnership. First, admission of new students through the Interest and Ability Search Selection (PMDK) or the Achievement Track for the Faculty of Medicine. This admission pathway allows prospective students to gain entry to the program based on their achievements in the fields of academics (report cards and diploma grades), sports, and arts, as well as through institutional invitations. The second focus of the MoU was the implementation of University Tri Dharma values in Thursina IIBS.
This partnership provides free admission passes for two Thursina IIBS students. However, to qualify for this pass, students must meet a series of requirements such as outstanding achievements in academic and non-academic fields, as well as a recommendation letter from the boarding school.
“This initiative offers a big opportunity for students to continue their studies in some of the most prestigious universities in the country. Moving forward, this will also open up other avenues for Thursina students to advance,” said Ustadz Rois.
On the topic of University Tri Dharma implementation, both institutions exchanged information on activities around education, teaching, research and development, as well as community service. This signing of the MoU also opens internship opportunities in Thursina IIBS for students of Hang Tuah University. In turn, students of Thursina IIBS can also learn from the visits of guest lectures at their school, while also having the chance to visit Hang Tuah University in person.
The signing of the MoU in partnership with Hang Tuah University was attended by the Chief of Education, Ustadz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd.I., Principal of Academic Ustadz A. Ali Syihabuddin, M.Pd, from Thursina IIBS and by the Deputy Rector III for Cooperation and Student Affairs Dr. Sulistyono, S.E., M.M., M.Sc., P. S. C., along with other members of the Hang Tuah University rectorate.
"Hopefully this partnership can help students to pursue their higher education in prestigious institutions, where they can gain knowledge and skills in their respective majors. The main thing is, that both parties can synergize with each other on developing quality education," concluded Ustadz Rois.
