Thursina IIBS Earned ISO 9001:2015 Certification Following External Audits
Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) has officially been granted the International Standard Organization (ISO) 9001:2015 certificate, following a series of external audits conducted by the TUV SUD Indonesia certification body on June 23.
According to Ustadzah Harismaning Aulia, M.A., Quality Assurance Coordinator of Thursina IIBS, ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard reference for quality management system that establishes essential principles in service quality. This standard is implemented across six departments: Education, Relation & Enrollment (REO), Finance, Smart Campus, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Thursina International Office. “Achieving ISO 9001:2015 Certification serves as an evidence of Thursina IIBS's commitment to implementing a quality management system in all Thursina IIBS units,” she explained.
Ustadzah Aulia further explained that the certification process was conducted by the reputable international certification body, TUV SUD Indonesia. Prior to the assessor team's audit, the management of Thursina IIBS performed an internal management review specifically aimed at setting quality targets. This internal audit is done routinely every semester to ensure that each unit is meeting its goals. "After completing the internal audit and various evaluations, an external audit is then carried out by a team of assessors,” she added.
The certification process is conducted in two thorough stages. The first stage involves a comprehensive review of the quality management system documents established for each work unit. Once the initial review is successfully completed, the assessment team observes the compatibility between the documented procedures and their actual implementation. Key aspects evaluated during this process include quality objectives, work programs, performance evaluations, databases, and operational efficiency.
“Every indicator must be planned meticulously and executed consistently. If any of those points were to not be properly executed, there will be an evaluation or a repetition process,” she noted.
Taking place at the Thursina IIBS TICH Hall, the certification was attended by Mr. Arief Prihartono and Mr. Bustanul Arifin as auditors. Also present were Ustadz M. Ali Wahyudi, M.Pd., Chairman of Thursina; Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Ustadzah Sumi Rahayu, M.M., Senior Advisor; along with all chiefs, principals, vice principals, deputies, and managers from each unit. "The findings revealed one minor issue, eight areas for improvement, and one positive aspect: Thursina has effectively implemented its quality management system and communicated its targets and expectations clearly to all units," explained Ustadzah Aulia.
This ISO 9001:2015 certification serves as a reminder of Thursina IIBS’ commitment to provide quality educational services. Efforts to enhance the school’s operational management are carried out solely to improve the teaching and learning process, providing the best service to students and parents.
“Moving forward, every unit in Thursina IIBS will have more credibility in providing service according to the international standard of quality. We will continue to improve on this achievement to ensure that all units consistently maintain our ISO-standardized quality of service,” she concluded.
