Thursina IIBS Join Hands with UNUSA in a Collaboration of Islamic Educational Institutions
In an effort to improve their health education and services, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) recently joined hands with the Nahdlatul Ulama University of Surabaya (UNUSA) School of Medicine in a tight partnership.
The partnership, formalized by an agreement signing on Tuesday, February 6, highlighted both institutions’ commitment to implementing social services in the Thursina IIBS surrounding community. As part of this partnership, the UNUSA School of Medicine will provide healthcare professionals and other resources to assist with health education and services for the community around Thursina IIBS.
Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., principal of Thursina IIBS, noted that this partnership also included an easier application process for Thursina IIBS students who wish to pursue higher education at the UNUSA School of Medicine. The UNUSA School of Medicine is committed to facilitating the admissions selection, ensuring that all Thursina IIBS students will have an equal chance of getting into the program.
In his address, Ustadz Rois explained, “This partnership is a positive step to strengthen our collaboration while also providing our students with the option to pursue their higher education at a prestigious institution, particularly in the field of medicine. It gives our students the opportunity to develop their academic potential in this field. We hope that this partnership will significantly impact the development of our education.”
This partnership between Thursina IIBS and the UNUSA School of Medicine is also expected to serve as an example for other Islamic educational institutions to enhance their partnerships and collaborations at various levels.
Moreover, Ustadz Rois hoped that this partnership can be a strong foundation for both institutions in building better relationships and expanding their collaboration in education. Moving forward, this partnership can further develop to include a variety of collaborative projects, such as scholarship opportunities for Thursina IIBS students.
"Hopefully, this collaboration can facilitate students in pursuing studies at quality campuses. They can gain knowledge and skills aligned with their respective majors," he concluded.
