Students of Tazkia IIBS Successfully Won 6 Medals in SONAR 2020
Students of Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) won six medals in SONAR (Science Olympiad in Nusantara) held by POSI (Pelatihan Olimpiade Sains Indonesia) on July 26, 2020. There were six students, Sada Prastiwi, Bisma Azmi Ardana, and Farrel Arganta triumphantly attained silver medals for Biology, Math, and English Language lessons. While, the other three, Elrian Yudistira, Rivano Haidar Rozaan, and Ferdian Satria Darmawan gained bronze medals for Earth lesson.
One of the participants, Bisma Azmi Ardana, told that he intended to practise his math skills initially. In fact, he competently won a silver medal. This achievement has made him as well as his parents contented and proud.
Excellent result often comes with challenges, including reluctance. However, experiencing and examining the ability in the field are a golden chance.
"I have a goal for the competition, so I try hard to gain and fight," he says.
The student of year 11 in senior high school of Tazkia IIBS revealed that it is hard to do independent learning without special supervision like before the pandemic. Nevertheless, he attempted to focus on his his goal and overcame the challenges.
"By taking part in a competition, I could fill my spare time with more productive activities. Although in home, I feel like in boarding school," he said.
Ustadz Febryan Yustiadi, S.Pd., the Vice Principle of Student Affairs of Tazkia IIBS told that preparation of the materials is the key, therefore the participants are required to study hard during the preparation period. Furthermore, good intention is another thing to have.
"As long as we intend for Allah's blessing, He will provide the best result for us," he says.
Ustadz Bryan, additionally, conveyed that online competition helps students and teachers to improve in digital practises. Students would learn to use the internet for more productive and advantageous activities, not only for online games.
"For some students, entering the competition might be inconvenience, yet, it will support them to be accepted in both domestic or international universities," he closed the statement.
