Intensifying Training, Thursina IIBS Archery Team Wins the Third Place in the Dankormar Cup National Championship
Once again, the Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) archery team has succeeded winning two wins, the third place in the U18 Men's Standard Bow team and the 3rd place in the Men's General Compound team in the Dankormar National Championship on the 78th Marine Anniversary.
The competition was held at Mako Pasmar 2 Gedangan, Sidoarjo. The archery coach, Ahmad Hasim Avid, revealed that the Thursina IIBS archery team develops persistently along with its achievements. Kyran Zuhdy Widhya, Revan Aulia Ak won bar, Rajwa Naveed Tsamara Aysel R. and Moh. Zain Anshori were in the team of U18 Standard Bow category.
Meanwhile, Ariel Prawinata won for the compound team category. For these double wins, they brought another silver medal, adding to the team's achievements.
"Alhamdulillah, the students had prepared for this competition for approximately 14 days and achieved satisfactory results. "In Standard Bow U18 category, we get a score of 6-0 and in the General Compound category, 220 points were collected," he said.
In the general team of compound match, the members of the team must shoot six arrows at a distance of 50 meters. With intensive practice time, they aimed at the direction of the arrow precisely. Moreover, several students have taken part in various competitions as a part of process of mastering the skills.
"Their consistency while in training has made the victory truly impressive. They prefer to go to the arena to practicing a lot with their coach after school rather than taking a good rest," he added.
Thanks to God for the victories. These students, for several times, win the championships for both locally and nationally. The achievement, additionally, was consecutively of the last month win with a gold medal in the U-15 Team and a silver medal in the General Team of compound category in the Archery Championship of Fast Satria Pandhita.
In the near future, they will take part in Danrem Cup, in November 2023. Adequate and extensive training hours have made the athletes more confident showing their skills in various archery competitions.
Ustadz Munahar Al Amin as Sports and Art coordinator added, one way to motivate students is to instill grit and perseverance in practicing. Basically, the process will never betray the results - this is crucial therefore they appreciate every process as a learning step.
"Hopefully, in the upcoming competition, in November 2023, the students could have satisfying and desired results," he said.
