Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) had won the first place in National Robotic Contest (Baronas) 2019 held by Institut Tekhnologi Surabaya (ITS) on Sunday (3/29), following its triumph last year, in 2018.

The participants were three students of year VII, Iqmal Syauqi Furqon, Darvesh Valubia Nabel and Brilliant Muhammad. They beat on 54 teams by the highest speed, 2 minutes and 21 seconds, fighting off given challenge.

"In preliminaries, Tazkia also led on others", Brilliant, one of the participants, said.

The category followed was analogue and transporter robot, manually controlled. Provided challenges included to move object from transporter track to particular place, then to continue analogue challenge along the given track.

Each robot has to take object as many as possible and transfer them pto singular point. The main challenge was speed and precision to take and put the objects.

Tazkia team was noted the fastest in preliminaries, 2 minutes and 30 seconds. In round 16, they still gained the shortest time, 2 minutes and 18 seconds, while in the round 8, the team only got the third by 2 minutes and 38 seconds. However, the triumph was attained in the final round by 2 minutes and 17 seconds.

The three participants had prepared, at least, a week before the competition. They modified the recent robot and managed it to run on the right track by specific time. Also, setting the robot to be balanced carrying object and transfering it precisely. "The robot must be set to be fast on the right track and be balanced when carrying object," Brilliant explained.
