Welcoming digital transformation era, Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held an Inspirational Talk by the theme VUCA for Disruptive Innovation for male students of year 10, senior high school of Tazkia IIBS  (11/3). An online agenda presented the Academic Director of Tazkia IIBS, Ustadz Eko Nurhaji Purnomi, M.Pd as the speaker. The audience would have a picture about the skills that should be improved to become Entepreneur Leader.

VUCA stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. Generally, VUCA relates to how one perceives when making a decision, planning, managing risk, encouraging changes, and solving a problem. Talking about VUCA is exploring about diverse fast changes, like the world condition facing the pandemic today.

Ustadz Eko explained that the pandemic of covid-19 has affected to the world significantly. The number of population and high mobility have resulted in the wide spread of the virus all over the world. Certainly, it increases mortality rate of people in the productive ages and economic downturn in some countries by 1-2%. If continuing, more countries will be in recession or bankruptcy.

We could create VUCA in the recent condition as a chance to become an entrepreneur, he said. The pandemic has brought people to the crisis, thus some patterns of life would change, including learning process, daily activity, and other aspects in life. It is predicted that the change will be continued even after the crisis. At least, 50% of the workers will be replaced by automatic system, mainly digital machines.

By the condition, people should master some skills moving the companies forward, such as analytical thinking and innovation, design technology, programming, etc. Ustadz Eko conveys that in 2025, variety of jobs based on data and creativity will emerge, such as data analyst, digital marketer, strategist and so on. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to improve his skill, around 40% in each five years. 

Related to teamwork, endurance and digital technology wise will be required in the next four years. Students will be prepared to have these skills, he said. One of the solutions to survive in the recent condition is to become entrepreneur leader, who has entrepreneur soul and communicates his vision and mission well. Besides, he is able to create supportive environment to encourage  and approach the team by innovation and creativity.

In addition, Ustadz Eko revealed that the main thing is understanding open innovation concept, in that, innovation is the real strength to generate market. The more collaboration, the more chance to win the market. Furthermore, the skill to predict the future condition will complete them all. It requires broad knowledge from various resources thus one could perfectly comprehend and take pro-active action.

Inspirational Talk also held for female students of year 10, senior high school of Tazkia IIBS in the following day, inviting the director of IT and campus, Ustadz Imam Baihaqi, S.Kom as a key speaker.

We can innovate and provide solution for people by the knowledge. Therefore, we could be adaptive and sustainable, he concluded.
