Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) Malang continues to improve the literacy culture of santri in various ways. One of them through wall magazine (mading). Responsible student Tazkia IIBS Malang, Ustadz Robby Amrullah, M. Pd, Dip. Ed said, the activities of making this mading done routinely every month.

According to Ustadz Robby, making mading is one way in training children to be familiar with the culture of literacy. In the process of making mading not just make and display. But every santri is also involved to read first, then write what he has read it.

In addition, continued Ustadz Robby, Indonesia is the country with the lowest reading interest & nbsp; in this world. Indonesia is ranked 61 out of 62 countries with low reading levels. "It is also in line with the direction and policies of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) that encourage learners to be introduced to the culture of literacy," Ustadz Robby explained. More than reading and writing, every santri is also taught how to create with various materials to beautify mading of each class. To be more enthusiastic, the mading is contested and there are awards for each class who managed to be a winner. "The theme this time about ethics and adab," said Ustadz Robby.

According to Ustadz Robby, with the theme of the santri will read about how the ethics of a santri to his teacher, how good adab for a santri to his teacher, also how ethical and civilized with fellow friends or to the younger. "Mading on the value of its contents, design, and time of workmanship," said Ustadz who also became part of discipline students. 

From this mading competition came out as the winner that is class VIII C and class X IPA 1. Winner get award in the form of trophy rotation, coaching money and certificate award from Tazkia. "In the process of making each santri in particular every class can be more familiar again, because pengerjaaannya done together," he said.

In the future, Ustadz Robby hope not only in the mading competition santri actively read and write. But the culture of literacy is cultivated to be part of the santri's habits. (lil / wf)
