Thursina IIBS Student Wins Two Physics Trophy in A Double Feat of Excellence
A student of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) earned outstanding achievements in two prestigious physics competitions. Azizirohim won the first district prize at the Physics Competition (Photon), organized by the Physics Department student association at the State University of Surabaya. In an incredible double victory, this eighth-grade student also secured first place at the junior high school science subject competition, held by Side Event Organizer in Surabaya on December 10.
Taking place at the end of last November, the Photon Competition consisted of multiple rounds; elimination, semifinal, final, and grand final. Competing against dozens of participants from all over Indonesia, Azizirohim was placed in the district 10 group, which covers the areas of Malang, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, and Blitar. He advanced to the semifinal with the highest score, ultimately claiming first place in his district group.
In addition to his brilliant success in Photon, Azizirohim gained victory at the junior high school science subject competition, held by Side Event Organizer in Surabaya in early December.
“Alhamdulillah, I certainly did not expect this. This further motivates me to achieve greater and better things,” said Azizirohim.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support from everyone around him. “I’m grateful for the support I’ve received from my teachers, parents, and friends. I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for them,” he continued.
Azizirohim has always had a strong passion for Physics. Hailing from Surabaya, this highly curious student enjoyed exploring formulas and solving complex problems. For Azizirohim, the key to learning Physics is to have a good understanding of its principles and constant problem-solving practice.
“Physics consists of very complex elements that push me to keep on learning and develop my understanding. By taking part in this competition, I can measure my skills and ability, while making new friends,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Azizirohim aspired to continuously excel and achieve greater success in the future. “I hope these victories will only be the beginning of a journey full of accomplishments. In the future I will continue to learn and give my best to my school and family, as well as to make a positive contribution to society,” he concluded
