Developing Comprehensive Skills, Tazkia IIBS Launches New Extracurricular Program
In the beginning of school year period, Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) introduces new curriculum for extracurricular program or enrichment. The renewal is Tazkia commitment to offer holistic and balanced education for its students. There are nine enrichment classes for junior school and twelve classes for the seniors. The program would accomodate comprehensive knowledge, including the theory, practice, and management of the final results for the selected class.
One of the enrichment programs is specifically designed to deepen understanding of certain skills. They are Muslimah Fashion Preneur, Digital Media Influencer, Artificial Intelligent, Medical Creation, Halal Food Preneur, Modern Farming, Drawing, Book Writer, Design, English Debate, Science, Math, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Olympiad.
The coordinator of the program, Ustadz Robby Amrullah Q. M., M.Pd., explained that the syllabus has been arranged since April 2020. It will be discussed with the presenter of each class. Following the discussion and adjustment with the characteristics of each enrichment class, the syllabus is ready to be implemented, scheduled on every Saturday at 10.00 -11.30 am.
"Each class will be taugh by expert teacher in the field therefore students will experience balanced learning process between theory and practice," he said.
Ustadz Robby told that each class has certain uniqueness and characteristics since it has diverse purposes to provide choices for students based on their goals in the future. Examplifying olympiad class, aimed for students to achieve in olympiad, while Halal Food Preneur class has an objective to produce food, qualified for halal food standard.
"Learning process in some classes is held both offline and online since some students have stayed in the boarding school. Later, regular classes will be designed for students to practise," he told.
He reminded students to be responsible of what they have chosen because the curriculum will be fully functioning when students engage actively and persistently in learning process. Commitment and focus are needed to be persistent in the selected field as well as learning by heart.
"The program is not only additional activities, but also advantageous skills in the future. Moreover, student could win a competition through extracurricular activities ," he said.
