Designing Mental Health Application, Thursina IIBS Students Win The 4th Place in LPDP Business Competition held by Ministry of Finance

A team of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) exceled on the national stage - Nayla Herman Ramadhani and Olivia Mecca Asnawi Putri. They won the 4th place in Business Competition, held by Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP), 2023 (26/28).

LPDP Business Competition is a competition open to entrepreneurs and students to develop business innovation. Thursina IIBS team presented an application innovation called Geisgo, in this prestigious event, providing consultation services with psychologists. At the start of the competition, they had to compete fiercely with more than five thousand participants from  SMA/MA/SMK level throughout Indonesia to enter the top 25 to represent the province. Excellent presentation at the provincial level has led them to be invited as finalists to present their business innovation on 1 – 3 August, at The Kasablanka Hall, South Jakarta  and  win the fourth place.

   

"Alhamdulillah, this is beyond our expectations, we get the fourth place in this reputable event from our simple ideas," said Nayla, the chairman of the team.

They started the presentation with some cases of a third teenagers in Indonesia who experience mental health problems. With the fact of those problems, a couple students of class XII designed an application providing counseling services with psychiatrists and psychologists that can be accessed at any time by personal device. “A third is barely small number, besides helping each other, it also becomes market opportunity that quite large," added the student from Bali.

      

In addition to online counseling, this application contains other various features. They are : mental treatment, motivation related to mental health, journal, equipped with a password (Geisgo Notes), and Geisgo Shop, selling several therapy tools recommended by counselors, one of them is a painting tool. “The services we offer are quite affordable, the consultation fee ranging from  50 to 60 thousand rupiah," continued Olivia.

For this outstanding achievement, two students that had won gold medals at the International Youth Business Competition (IYBC) 2023, receive an offer from the government for non-degree scholarship program to four well-known countries, including Singapore, South Korea, New Zealand and America for 3 – 6 months. Nayla and Olivia hope that Geisgo Apps will develop gradually. Even now, they are looking for investors for future development. “We opened a booth and distributed brochures to visitors. We hope that someone will be interested to invest so that Geisgo can develop like Halodoc, Satupersen and others," added Olivia.
