Chancellor of STEI Tazkia Taught Students of Tazkia IIBS about Islamic Economics

The interest in fostering Islamic Economics needs to be installed earlier, beginning from primary school, junior, and senior high schools. Those are part of speech of Dr. Muniati Mukhlisin, M. Acc, the Chancellor of Tazkia Islamic Economics Academy, in her lecture during visit to Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), on Wednesday (11/6).

She explained, Islamic economics should be spreaded in all levels of society. This is a tenet that must be provided relentlessly in various ways from one country to another.

"Almost all around us are economic practises. Trading daily goods, loan, and so on should be based on Islamic economy that has been ruled in Quran," the doctor, alumnus of Glasgow University, United Kingdom, said.

She exemplified in loan, Al Quran has commanded to write it by presenting two witnesses when the transaction is undertaken. However, rarely is this method done by muslims, especially.

Economic problems cannot be considered trivial, it is required deep understanding. In the long run, it will affect over all people's life. In some cases, it ruins household because of economical problems or debts.

Islamic economics principles, related with daily life, should be realised by all parties. Dr. Muniati described in front of all students that the way to comprehend it is to understand Al Quran, the Prophet life and practise.

Besides delivering about Islamic economics, STEI Tazkia has signed Memorandum of Understanding in higher education to provide easier access for students of Tazkia IIBS to choose their continuing education.

The Director of Boarding School of Tazkia IIBS, Ustadz Muhammad Rajab, M. Pd. I, stated, both institutes have agreed upon graduate school for Tazkia IIBS students in the future and scholarship for underprivilaged students.

"STEI Tazkia also provides scholarship for Quran memoriser. This can be a value-added point for students of Tazkia IIBS because they have memorised Al Quran as one of the compulsory programs in the school," he said.
