Running the second semester of school period of 2020-2021, Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held webinar, entitled Learning How to Learn, on Monday (01/11). It invited Ustadz Ahmad Dhofir Zuhry, S. Sos, M. Fil, the Director of Luhur Baitul Hikmah and the Rector of Institute of Al Farabi Philosophy Science.

The blessings of knowledgeable people are valid over time. Their intellectual ages will be exist even though physical ages are limited. The legacy of past scholars is still used today as a reference for Muslims. Gus Dhofir, his nickname, explained the importance of blessings in studying.

Basically, boarding school students are the successors of religious knowledge. Hoping more in the afterlife, not in life; the world is not their goal. By the existing knowledge, students are not enforce basic laws for those who adhere to different principal. In Islam, this is called mazhab.  According to Gus Dhofir, mazhab is a way to achieve goal.

"Simply put, we are free to use any school as long as it has the same purpose with Al-Qur'an," he explained to all Tazkia IIBS students.

There are various schools of thought in Islam, therefore students should be able to appreciate the differences, remembering that it is common to be different in thoughts, opinions, and the practice of worship.  Thus, they are supposed to appreciate, even to people of other religions.

Appreciating and respecting do not mean prohibit people from doing what they believe.  If, in Islam, there are people who use qunut and not,  all are right to be undertaken actually, "he said.

Furthermore, Gus Dhofir explained that in the Qur'an, knowledgeable people are rabbaniyun, scholars, and ahlu zikr. People, who always think of Allah, are also pious.  Therefore, humans should remember Allah relentlessly in all activities, even to contemplate the creation of the earth. It will be faith in person that there is a creator of this world and everything in it.

Students, then, should not only grasp about religion, but also learn about outer space, medicine, science, to history.  The key is honesty and the spirit of Islam.
