Opening Up Opportunities to Overseas Campuses, Thursina IIBS Holds Study Abroad Fair
Thursina International Islamic Boarding School through Thursina International Office (TIO) held Thursina Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday (7/5) at Harvard Hall in Female Campus 1. The event is intended for students in grades 10, 11, and 12 on overseas pathways for supporting and providing information related to further study abroad.
The event presented six educational institutions and representatives of countries, including Campus France, Campus Spain, Uni-Italia, University of Hull (UK), Istituto Europeo di Design (Italy), and Brazil. The edu fair is a concern of Thursina in facilitating high school students to access information on overseas campuses, especially in the European regions.
Opening speech from Ustadz Imam Awaluddin stated, "Students like to travel the world, so they must think internationally. In addition to national campuses, the interest to study abroad has increased 40%."
The main benefit, continued Ustadz Awal, is to provide a concrete picture about international education and open access to credible scholarship information. In addition, it shows the active role of Thursina to encourage their students' dreams to pursue international higher education.
It was followed by motivational seminar presenting Mrs. Siti Juwairiyah, LPDP scholarship awardee and representative of the One Million Students Movement. She gave insight into opportunities, strategies and tips for gaining scholarships to study abroad.
The series of agenda were closed with a session of visiting the booths of each institution. The students seemed enthusiastic in discussing and asking questions related to study programs, requirements, and scholarship opportunities offered by overseas campuses.
Thursina would like to broaden knowledge of their students regarding further studies abroad and help them obtain accurate and reliable information regarding scholarships and universities in Europe and its surroundings. (lil)
