Senior Students of Thursina IIBS Organized Social Aid Event at Al-Ikhlas Boarding School for Orphaned Girls
In an effort to foster a sense of compassion for others, students of Thursina International Boarding School (IIBS) hosted another social service event at the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School for Orphaned Girls (PPYD) in Singosari on May 25. Initiated by the 12th grade female students, the event featured distribution of basic needs and school supplies and was enlivened by educational games.
The distributed aid package included 5 sacks of rice, 4 cartons of instant noodles, 5 cartons of milk, school supplies and stationeries, clothes, and other necessities. These packages were given to the 70 students of Al-Ikhlas PPYD. Additionally, the event featured a series of educational games to liven up the occasion and nurture teamwork.
Ustadz M. Akbar Nadhif, M.Pd., the teacher advisor of the event, expressed his gratitude and pride in students' acts of compassion and social awareness. “I’m grateful to contribute directly to this social event and to witness students’ enthusiasm in sharing their joy and support for their peers at Al-Ikhlas,” he explained.
According to Ustadz Akbar, the event, themed ‘We Pray, We Care, We Share,’ aimed not only to provide aid but also to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two institutions. "On this occasion, the students prayed together in hopes of succeeding in the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) and gaining admission to their dream universities," he added.
Ustadz Imam, caretaker of Al-Ikhlas PPYD, warmly welcomed the initiative from the Thursina IIBS students. "I would like to thank the Thursina IIBS students and the accompanying ustadz and ustadzah for their generous donation to our boarding school. Insyaallah, we will use it well," he noted.
Nawal Fajril Haya, the head organizer of the event, expressed hope that this initiative could be carried out regularly to nurture their bond of friendship. “Hopefully, this event will contribute significantly and leave a positive impression on all of us,” she concluded.
