Annual Event, QLF 2019, Delivered a Message to Coloring the World
"Colouring the world is not only through achievement, but also through habit, mindset, and event. One of them is Quran and Language Festival (QLF), annually held in Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS),” Ustadzah Harismaning Aulia, M. Sc said.
Conducted in six days (09/23-25) and (10/03-05), students, through Tazkia Student Association (TSA), learnt to organize an event.
The coordinator of language division, Ustadzah Harismaning Aulia, M. Sc stated, this yearly event has been waiting for by all students. All parties should have to participate and show the best performance. More than winning or losing, there will be some valuable lessons to learn from the project.
"This annual event is the most awaited occasion by the whole students," she said.
By the theme Colors of The World in female campus and Apollo Mission in male campus, symbolized by customs from various countries displayed in opening, closing and every show. This concept is aimed to provide knowledge about global cultures in several parts of the world.
Similar with female campus, Ustadz Umar as language coordinator in male campus explained, Apollo Mission is a symbol of student drive to move forward and globalize. "The symbol is a trip to the space. There is no limit for students to achieve and reach their highest dream," he added.
The competition was divided into four categories, english language including story telling, speech and tazkia voice, arabic language including public speaking, arabic singing, and news reading. While, Al Quran including MHQ, MTQ, and adzan, and the last category including quiz, detective, and yelling contest.
Before the competition, there was preliminaries. Ustadz Umar said, students had prepared for the competition every night and the judges also shared tips and strategies before the contest.
"It will be a supervision for some of the winners to participate in the contest out of the school," he added.
The general champion in QLF 2019 was year 8 C for junior school and year 11 of natural science 2 for senior school. In male campus, students of year 11 became the best participants.
