On Dreams, Perserverance, and Wonders of the Quran: Thursina IIBS Students Placed Third at BSI Flash Storywriting Competition

Students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), Ayasha Nabila Saquila and Marsya Aurelya Santoso, made a remarkable accomplishment at a writing competition organized by Bina Sarana Informatika (BSI) Flash. Both of them secured third place in the competition, beating hundreds of submissions from students all over Indonesia.

Ayasha Nabila Saquila presented her inspiring story under the title ‘Painting Dreams with the Ink of Perseverance’ (‘Melukis Mimpi dengan Tinta Kegigihan’). Through her writing, Ayasha vividly illustrated her personal journey in facing failure and challenges. With great honesty, she shared her experience of how a negative view of failure once haunted her. In the end, she discovered a new meaning to failure through determination and persistence in pursuing her dreams.

Meanwhile, Marsya Aurelya Santoso inspired readers with her story entitled ‘With Difficulty There Must Be Ease’ (‘Bersama Kesulitan Pasti Ada Kemudahan’). Marsya told the story of her struggle to achieve her dream, which was laden with difficulties. However, she then found her peace, calm, and strength in the sacred verses of the Quran that kept her going and gave in to the trials and tribulations.

Ayasha noted how writing has always been a way for her to get something off her chest. “Whatever it is that we want to convey, we can say it through writing. I find that really helpful. Our writing is something that will stand the test of time eternally,” she explained.

Ustads Rois Haqiqi, principal of the school, expressed how proud he is of Ayasha and Marsya’s marvelous achievement. “This is proof of Thursina IIBS students’ excellence and dedication in academics and literacy. We sincerely hope that this will inspire other students to continue to work on their crafts and enhance their potential,” he remarked.

Ayasha and Marsya’s feats also serve as a reminder that education based on Islamic values not only fosters a generation that excels academically but also one that has a strong personality with optimism and determination in facing adversity.
