Thursina IIBS Inaugurated 19 Hafiz-Hafiza through Munaqosah Ammah li Tahfidzil Quran
Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) wrapped up the year 2023 by inaugurating hafiz and hafiza students in the Munaqosah Ammah li Tahfidzil Quran. The assessment took place in the Thursina Masjid on Thursday, December 21 where a total of 19 students from grade 9 to 12 successfully passed the munaqosah.
The students inaugurated in this event are Aldi Damarjati Aditya, Ananta Akbar Pratama, Dzar Alghiffary, Ezar Firjatullah Sujatman, Muhammad Daffa Athahillah, Muhammad Nabil Alfansyah Putra, Muhammad Raafi Ananda, Muhammad Thoriqul Jihad Al Musyaffa, Imam Azmi Al Mahfuzh, Muhammad Zaki Baharudin, Ziyada Ulya, Khansa Ariena Nasution, Anna Tasya Aprilia Santoso, Naira Assyanoor Fairus, Azka Tsabitah Nurdin, Ghania Fazila Hadi, Nabila Zhafira, Amalia Putri Zaman, all from the 12th grade. Meanwhile, one 9th grader, Ammara Helmi Bathhef, was also inaugurated on this occasion.
The annual event was attended by a guest from Al Azhar University Egypt, Sheikh Muhammad Salim Amr, Mab'uts. In his keynote speech, he encouraged the students to continuously engage with the Quran, emphasizing that a time spent reading and learning the Quran is a meaningful and well-spent one. “A memorized Quran can serve as a medicine, one that prevents all misdeeds,” he stressed. His speech, delivered in Arabic, was interpreted directly by Ustadz Hofid Eksan Rawi, Lc., M.H.
Ustadz Muhammad Rajab M.Pd.I., in his address revealed that prior to the munaqosah assessment, the students underwent an intensive preparation process through the Daurah Tahfidzul Quran program for an entire month. The program was meant to strengthen and intensify their Quran memorization, then they were evaluated in a closed assessment by a panel of examiners. Finally, their memorization was assessed publicly in front of guests and parents in the munaqosah event.
In his speech, Ustadz Muhammad Ali Wahyudi, M.Pd., Chairman of Thursina IIBS, emphasized the institution's commitment in fostering a generation of hafiz and hafiza who thrives in many fields of work. He hoped that Thursina IIBS alumni can become brilliant Quran scholars even though they are working in various sectors, enlightening those around them.
As one of the learning requisites in Thursina IIBS, every student is required to memorize at least three juz of the Quran. After a three-year long process,sAs many as 86% of students have memorized 3-10 juz, 10% of students have memorized 10-20 juz and 3% of students have memorized 30 juz. After the munaqosah event, students have around 5-6 months to strengthen and deepen their memorization before graduation.
On this occasion, it was announced that the best Daurah participants were Arkan Galih Emeraldy Suminar for the boys and Kirana Lakeisha Sarfaras for the girls at the junior high school level. At the high school level, the top participants were Hanif Dwi Karunia Iswanto for the boys and Adisty Nada Nisrina for the girls. Meanwhile the title for the best tahfidz went to Muhammad Iqbal Maulana Syafrizal and Kanza Naulu Malika Arsy.
