Transforming Footsteps into Electrical Energy, Thursina IIBS Students Gain 3 Medals in ISPC 2024
Ustadz Helmi Pakas Rivai, M.Pd., a physics teacher and Chair of the Professional Department & CEO of Thursina IIBS, as well as the team supervisor, expressed his pride. “The success is the result of perseverance and hard work. Our team has started research with enthusiasm and advanced the idea that previously won silver medal in Semarang. The program has been updated to improve its performance," he said.
The team faced various challenges, especially in the electrical aspect of the project. “We experienced troubles with the initial electrical system, but we did not give up. With determination and innovation, we fixed the problem and succesfully implementing more efficient motion sensor," added Ustadz Helmi.
The INSTAPI project not only serves to convert footsteps into electrical energy but also monitors the number of visitors, simplifying facility management, and enhances security measures. By added functionalities, INSTAPI offers a potential solution for energy crisis as well as demonstrates progress towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
The Thursina IIBS male student team secured three awards at once: Gold Medal, Best Poster Award, and AYSA Special Award. “The achievements are clear evidence of creativity and ability of our students. Considerable support from the school, intensive guidance, and persistence of the team have resulted in immense satisfaction," said Ustadz Helmi proudly.
The accomplishments are rewarding for Thursina IIBS and, furthermore, show, the youth with strong determination and innovation are able to contribute significantly in science and technology. INSTAPI is the real example of how innovative ideas are capable of facing global challenges with solutions as well as positive impact in current global challenges. (rnw/lil)
