Sharing Knowledge on the World of Islamic Education, Thursina IIBS Holds International Education Conference 2025
In commemoration of a decade of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School, Thursina IIBS conducted a series of events. One of them is International Education Conference 2025, on Saturday (25/1). Situated at Thursina International Conference Hall (TICH) in Male Campus, it was attended by speakers from various countries, both offline and online.
Thursina International Conference 2025, is a part of the 10th anniversary celebration. By the theme "The 10th Anniversary: Being the Center of Excellence in Islamic Education", it was officially opened by the CEO of Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., in the Male Campus.
In his speech, Ustadz Nur Abidin welcomed all audiences, coming from several regions, within and outside the country. He fully appreciated a decade of Thursina IIBS journey with tremendous achievements and commitment to Islamic education.
“Thank you to everyone who has been part of this extraordinary journey. Thursina has two campuses, and today's conference was held at Male Campus. In the last ten years, we have received numerous remarkable awards, including recognition from Al-Azhar, Cambridge, the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of Basic Education, ISO Certification, and the Islamic University of Madinah," said Ustadz Nur Abidin.
He, furthermore, conveyed Thursina IIBS as a melting pot, a gathering place for students from varied backgrounds, in the country and overseas. Supported by the best teachers, graduated from internationally renowned universities, Thursina continues to establish partnerships with more than 40 worldwide schools and campuses. Recently, Thursina alumni have studied in 43 reputable universities, both in nasional and international level, including in Australia and Russia.
A number of special keynote speakers from some countries were presented in the conference, namely Ustadz Mokhammad Yahya, MA., Ph.D., the Former Head of Center of Science and Quran Integration, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. In his speech, he talked about Integration of the Quran and Science in Education: From Theory to Practice.
Mr. Muhammad Ali Abdullah, the Head of Center for Islamic Da'wa and Education, Sydney & Al-Insan New Muslim Learning, from Australia, attended the symposium as well. He delivered about The Role of Islamic Education in Addressing Global Challenges: Integrating Values, Knowledge, and Innovation. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Hasni Mohammed, the Professor of Education from The National University of Malaysia presented online, discussing about Reimagining the Landscape of Islamic Education: IHES and Its Implementation in Leadership and Nation Building.
In the second session, Dr. Adil bin Ibrahim At-Turki, from Majmaah University, Riyadh, attended virtually, talked regarding Global Collaborations and Knowledge Exchange Among Islamic Institutions. His lecture referred to the international cooperation among educational institutions, research and Islamic organizations throughout the world. Sharing knowledge, experience and resources in order to strengthen understanding, research and development in various fields of science, both religious and non-religious.
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, the member of Thursina IIBS Advisory Board discussed about Philosophy and Practice of Islamic Education: The Tree of Knowledge. Besides, the Chairman of Thursina IIBS Sharia Board, Ustadz Fathurrahman Hafidzahullah, presented regarding the Character and Ethical Development Through Islamic Education.
The conference is designed to be a place for reflection, inspiration and scientific renewal for all stakeholders in the world of education. "Hopefully, it would provide valuable learning, inspire the audiences, and become a forum for advancing educational innovation that is relevant to the demand of the era," concluded Ustadz Nur Abidin.
