Another Victory! Thursina IIBS Female Athletes Striked Bronze at the 2024 East Archery Championship
Students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) once again carved another brilliant victory in the world of archery, snatching bronze in the standard recurve category at the East Archery Championship 2024. Held on August 10-11 in East Jakarta, the championship was a prestigious event for archery athletes from clubs all over the country, including those in the Thursina IIBS team.
According to Ustadzah Zahwa Isfarani, S.Pd., the coordinator of Sports and Arts at the female campus of Thursina IIB, students in the team had undergone a thorough and intensive preparation station prior to the competition. “We had practice every afternoon for several weeks before the competition. The aim was to ensure that each participant is physically and mentally ready to face the challenges of the event,” explained Ustadzah Zahwa. Apart from that, the team also received full support from the school and parents during their training.
In this championship, Thursina IIBS sent four talented female student athletes, Ananda Keisha Rafidah from 8th grade, as well as Vellinsha Najwa, Quiesya Aqmar, and Derizqi Ariqah all from 9th grade. Despite facing tough competitions from major archery clubs in the capital, Thursina IIBS athletes delivered an outstanding performance in their sport.
“Our main competition was those big archery clubs from Jakarta. But despite this, alhamdulillah, our students managed to keep their composure and hone their focus throughout their competition,” Ustadzah Zahwa noted.
Ustadzah Zahwa, who chaperoned the team during the competition, expressed her immense pride and joy in the students’ achievement. “This success is a result of the hard work and dedication of our great student athletes as well as the extraordinary support from the school and parents. This Bronze Medal is not just a mere source of pride for us, it also serves as an encouragement to further improve the quality of our training and achievements in the future," uttered Ustadzah Zahwa.
Thursina IIBS is remarkably proud and grateful of this achievement. The bronze medal in the Women's Team Recurve/Std National 15m category showed that the Thursina IIBS archery team not only has commendable technical skills, but also a strong mental conviction. This accomplishment clearly demonstrates the success of the implemented training system as well as the dedication and commitment of everyone involved.
Moving forward, Thursina IIBS plans to further improve the quality of training and seeks more opportunities for athletes to grow, particularly through future competitions. This success can hopefully serve as motivation for other students to continue working hard and achieve great things in their fields of passion.
