Taking a Closer Look on College Life, Thursina IIBS Hosts Study Excursion to Prestigious Universities
As their high school years come to a close, the 12th grade students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) have much to prepare for their further studies. To facilitate this transition, the management of Thursina IIBS hosted the 2023 Study Excursion for all 12th grade students, giving them the opportunity to visit prestigious universities around the country.
On this excursion, students had the chance to take a closer look at universities in Surabaya and Bandung from October 9 to 13 2023.
The campuses visited on this excursion were Jakarta International College (JIC), Airlangga University, Sunan Gunung Jati State Islamic University (UIN), Telkom University, School of Medicine at Padjadjaran University, School of Business and Management at Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB), and School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bandung Institute of Technology (FTSL ITB),
According to program coordinator Ustadz Muhammad Akbar Nadhiif, M.Pd., one of the objectives of the excursion was to inform and educate 12th-grade students about college life. The excursion also served as an opportunity for students to learn about the necessary details about university admission pathways, available programs and majors, and scholarship options. Additionally, the program was also designed to give students a glimpse into the learning experiences at both prominent state and private universities.
“These visits also give Thursina IIBS the opportunity to expand our network so our students can gain easier access when applying to their desired universities,” added Ustadz Nadhif.
Before embarking on the excursion, students have been briefed and given pointers so they could make the best out of the trip. This was meant to help their preparation for their future studies.
“Moving forward, we expect students to be selective in choosing their target universities and program majors according to their talent and passion. Whether it's to focus on their career or academic disciplines,” he concluded.
