Halal bi Halal, Thursina IIBS Ajak Asatid Tingkatkan Keutuhan Ikatan antar SDM
For Muslims, the month of Syawal is a time to gather with friends and family to seek forgiveness for mistakes made in the past year. Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) recently observed this tradition by hosting a Halal bi Halal event for all staff members on May 3. The event brought together all faculty members of the boarding school including the Chairman and CEO of Thursina IIBS, Board of Experts, teachers, educational staff, murobbi/murabbiyah, household staff, and their families.
Taking place at the Thursina Masjid, this event featured renowned preacher Gus Achmad Dhofir Zuhry as the speaker. In his sermon, he highlighted the importance of strengthening the bond of friendship and forgiving one another, particularly during halal bi halal, which serves as an opportunity to enhance camaraderie and relationships. He encouraged all teachers to take time to reassess their commitment as educators and to find inspiration in their teaching roles.
“Being a teacher is not just about passing on knowledge from books; it is also about being a vital pillar in instilling and nurturing piety towards Allah, especially since these students are entrusted to us and are often far from their parents,” he explained.
Moreover, he emphasized that teachers bear prophetic duties within their profession. In addition to imparting knowledge, teachers play a significant role in shaping students' behavior and attitudes, particularly through emulating characteristics of the Prophet such as Siddiq (honesty), Amanah (trustworthiness), Tabligh (conveying goodness), and Fathonah (intelligence).
“These are the moral standards that I think are very important to instill in our students from a very young age,” he stressed. “They will ultimately contribute to the advancement of our nation.”
Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., CEO of Thursina IIBS, expressed gratitude for the participation of all faculty members in this event. Echoing Gus Dhofir’s message, Ustadz Abidin emphasized that the halal bi halal event should strengthen the bonds between staff members and enhance their dedication to providing the best for students.
Furthermore, he encouraged all faculty members of Thursina IIBS to support one another through collaboration to achieve their collective goals, and urged them to approach their work with sincerity and patience.
“On behalf of our leadership, we sincerely apologize. We hope that during this Eid holiday, we can open our hearts to forgive one another and receive blessings and renewal in all aspects," he concluded.
The warm moment of the Halal bi Halal event concluded with staff members shaking hands in forgiveness, ready to welcome students' arrival in the campus.
