Holding Munaqosah 'Ammah li Tahfidzil Quran 2024, Thursina IIBS Inaugurates 365 Hafidz and Hafidzah

Thursina IIBS International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held Munaqosah 'Ammah li tahfidzil Quran, attended by 365 male and female students. Preparations for the exam had been started on November 18, 2024, with the tahfidz daurah lasted more than a month. The students worked hard to ensure their memorization had been ready to be tested. As many as 23 students accomplished 30 juz completely.


The coordinator of Tahfidz in Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Abdul Aziz, Lc., revealed that Munaqosah 'Ammah is a paramount test for students. "This Munaqosah 'Ammah is not only to examine memorisation, but also to build perseverance and discipline in maintaining their memorisation of Al-Qur'an. An opportunity for them to show their dedication and effort in memorizing and practicing Al-Qur'an," he said.






He also added, "The test teaches about the importance of maintaining good memorisation, as well as building their mental and spiritual strength.  We hope they are persistent to memorise and posses the Qur'an as their life guidelines to be practiced, not just memorised,"

As the key speaker, Sheikh Muhammad Salim Ismail Muhammad Amir, Al Azhar Representative for Indonesia was invited to the event. It began with welcoming speech  from Ustadz M. Rajab, as Chief of Education, reporting preparation and achievements of the participants. Followed by an inspiring lecture from  Shaikh Mohamed Salem Ismail Muhammad Amer, a cleric from Al-Azhar Cairo, Egypt, encouraging all  students to maintain the quality of their memorisation.


After a series of speeches, the Munaqosah exam started, consisting of several stages involving all participants. In the first stage, the students will read the verses, chosen by the examiner, together. Next, in the second stage, each student will be called one by one to continue the verse read by the examiner based on specified material. For junior high school students, the material tested is Juz 30, 29, and 1, while for high school students, Juz 4, 5, and 6. Every student will be asked with three questions regarding their memorisation.


All praise be to Allah, continued Ustadz Aziz, 23 students have completed 30 chapters of the Quran this year. They are Guruh Arash, Rahmania Khadijah, Amira Kurnia Fikri (grade 9). Meanwhile, Students of class 12, include: Azzam Qowimuzakky, Istna Hasan Abdurrahim, Mohammad Ali El Farisi, Fadel Maetam, Ahmad Nabilil Aqilah Rabbani, Raihan Naufal , Rafi Althaf Wiratara, Muhammad Zakwan Hilmi, Muhammad Dhiya Arrafa Al Fahd, Muhammad Arsya Sakha Nugroho, Ahmad Fatihul Hikam, Bima Ramadhan, Alfiah Nur Fauziyah, Arbaatiah Nikmatullah Nawangati Kashudi, Azzahra Husnu Fikrina, Elvi Nur Izzati, Nadia Salsabela Rahman, Ihdina Dinal Haque, and Nadhifa Bilhaq.


As recognition for their achievements, the best performers were awarded to encourage them improving their quality as well as devotion to Allah SWT.


In the end, Ustadz Abdul Aziz conveyed his hope that the Munaqosah 'Ammah would run smoothly. "We hope the examination go well and all students can show their best. May Allah SWT ease and smooth all examinees, and provide advantageous results for them in the world and hereafter."


Munaqosah 'Ammah is not just a memorisation test, but crucial moment as well to strengthen their commitment to maintaining and memorizing Qur'an and practicing the tenet in the daily lives. (rnw/lil)
