Thursina IIBS Students Triumphed at AKSI, Striked 92 Gold, 88 Silver and 37 Bronze
Students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) earned a remarkable triumph at the 2023 Indonesia Science Competition Event (AKSI), bringing home a total of 92 gold medals, 88 silver, and 37 bronze.
The National Science Championship Center (puskanas.id), in collaboration with the Berlian Hati Mulia Foundation, hosted the Indonesia Science Competition Event on Sunday, August 27, 2023. This online event brought together thousands of students from elementary, junior high school, high school, and university levels across Indonesia.
Competitions for junior high school students were held in the following subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Civics Education. Meanwhile, the high school competitions covered a broader range of subjects, including Astronomy, Biology, Basic Medicine, Economics, Physics, Geography, Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, History, Civics, Sociology, Informatics, English, and Bahasa Indonesia.
In this national competition, Thursina IIBS sent delegations for both the junior and high school level competitions. In a feat of brilliance, these delegations won an impressive total of 217 medals, including 92 gold, 88 silver, and 37 bronze. One of those medals was won by Bima Ramadhan. Bima is a 12th grade student who won the gold at the Basic Medicine competition.
Bima, a student from Kangean Island, revealed that he has been interested in the medical field since he was in junior high school. This particular passion of his encouraged him to participate in numerous medical-related competitions. So far, he has won 3 gold medals in a variety of national medical competitions. "Participating in competitions can help measure the extent of our learning achievements, learning itself is a process of achieving success," he noted.
So far, Bima has collected a total of 13 medals from a variety of national olympiads in his roster. Through his remarkable accomplishments, he aims to inspire his peers at Thursina IIBS to continue studying and participate in more competitions. He believes that one key to success in winning competitions is maintaining consistency in learning and taking advantage of the resources that Thursina IIBS has to offer. "We should make the most of the school facilities to further develop our potential. Don't be afraid to take on new challenges," he emphasized.
