Thursina Students Association Hosts 2023 Ludifest, Provides Platform for Self-Actualization
Influential and monumental work of arts are often born through a creative space where artists can actualize their potential. This motivated members of the Thursina Students Association (TSA) to host the 2023 Ludifest, titled Full of Fun and High Spirit on June 24.
Taking place at the Andalusia Field of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), this event brought together students of elementary and junior high schools from all over the province. There were a series of competitions taking place at the event, including storytelling, speech, Arabic calligraphy as well as drawing and coloring. A total of 21 prizes had been prepared by the organizers for the winners in each competition at both the elementary and middle school levels. “The 2023 Ludifest is meant to be a fun experience for all participants, while also offering them the chance to excel and inspire others,” noted Nilna Muna, the head organizer of the event.
According to the 10th grader, the event themed "Expand Your Imagination" aimed to provide a platform to develop students' talent and creativity. It was specifically designed to offer students a creative space to hone their communication and creative skills while also fostering their self-confidence. “Alhamdulillah, this simple event ran smoothly and with great enthusiasm from a lot of participants,” said Nilna. “A total of 125 students participated in this event.”
The event also served as an opportunity for self-actualization for the students of Thursina IIBS, especially through the process of organizing it. The preparation and execution allowed them to learn about creativity, leadership, communication, and problem-solving. “In addition to giving participants the chance to foster their self-potentials, activities like this serve as a portfolio for my peers, allowing us to learn and develop our potential in various ways,” she added.
Following the success of the annual event, Nilna hoped her peers would carry forward its positive aspects—such as competitive spirit, teamwork, and self-confidence—into their day-to-day lives.
Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., the Academic Principal of Thursina IIBS, expressed his pride and appreciation for students’ initiative, creativity, and commitment to organizing activities that foster the development of various potentials. “Moving forward, I hope this event becomes even more vibrant, with greater enthusiasm from even more participants, and most importantly, that it channels positive energy among the students,” he concluded.
