The agenda covered visits to historical landmarks in cities like Paris, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Brussels, Bremen, and Amsterdam. In Paris, they were awestruck by the splendor of the Eiffel Tower, the elegance of Notre Dame Cathedral, and the romance of the Pont des Arts Bridge. They also had the opportunity to learn about architecture and the environment at Champ de Mars, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre Pyramid, Place de la Concorde, and the Champs-Élysées.
“These destinations provided them with insight into the city's rich heritage and urban landscape. This is part of our effort to create internationally minded students,” explained Ustadz Qoirul.
The students also explored the streets of Rotterdam, immersing themselves in the magical modern architecture of Markthal Rotterdam and the iconic Erasmus Bridge. They also made a visit to some educational institutions such as Jacobs University and HAN University of Applied Sciences, where they had the opportunity to take a peek inside the innovative learning methodologies and academic routines.
In Amsterdam, the students visited cultural destinations such as the historic Zaanse Schans and the enchanting Volendam, before immersing themselves in the liveliness of Dam Square. Meanwhile, in Belgium, the itinerary included trips to fascinating sites such as the Atomium, Chocolaterie Manneken Pis, and the Royal Palace of Belgium in Brussels.
Noting the importance of the trip, Ustadz Qoirul said, “The trip is not just a mere tourism tour; it is an educational journey aimed at expanding the perspectives of our students. Experiencing different environmental, architectural, and cultural landscapes has enriched their understanding of the world and fostered a spirit of global citizenship.”
The trip to Europe gave the students of Thursina IIBS a diverse learning experience, instilling in them a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and a thirst for boundless knowledge.
