Raising the Issue of Modern Technology, Thursina IIBS Students Win in Dai Fest 2025

Satisfying achievement came from Nur Muharrimatul Azeeza, a student of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) of Junior High School who won the preacher competition in the Darul Fikri Islamic Festival (Difest) in Sidoarjo.

Her mentor, Ustadzah Nurul Fadhila, S.Pd, revealed she had passed the preliminary to the final round. "The preliminary stage was held online, while the final was conducted offline on the Difest stage," she said. She has had a long journey preeceding the outstanding accomplishment.

Initially,  she followed the selection process in Thursina IIBS. Zizi and nine other students, who had talents and interests in the field of preaching, gathered and practiced. "We gathered in the prayer room and offered them a script for speech.  Few days later, we met again until finally three students were selected," said Ustadzah Fadhila. The participants were asked to record a video uploaded in the Drive to submit to the committee in the preliminary round.

The video was also uploaded to their respective Instagram accounts, lasting around 5-7 minutes.

There were 38-40 registered participants to pass to the final stage or the top Ten.  Proudly, Zizi passed and was entitled to the next stage. Ustadzah Fadhila assessed that Zizi had extraordinary perseverance during the training. The mentor's suggestions were followed well, dan she was full of effort to do the finest. Besides, she was well prepared mentally.  Zizi tried to perform stunningly.

Unexpectedly, it paid off. She was selected as the third winner in the Difest. "Even though it was night, and she was tired and sleepy, she always came, never skipped even once. The script given was memorised,  the religious practices suggested were done. Prayers from the people around her  helped as well," she added. Zizi discussed about "Becoming the Golden Generation, Conquering Challenges in the Digital Era" in her speech.

The title was chosen because technology is now a test for the younger generation. Zizi invites the audiences to control themselves so that they are able to grow into a quality golden generation.  Ustadzah Fadhila added, there are valuable lessons from the competition. The first, the intention to preach. Whatever the results obtained, the most crucial thing is to spread goodness. Secondly, appearing on stage, winning against yourself from fear and nervousness in front of people, is impressive.

From that point, they would learn to master the skills. "Experiences are necessary to prepare students for other competitions. The result is a bonus, they don't need to be burdened to win the competition," she concluded. (sls/lil)
